Cei mai stabili sunt cei care contin un \u201enumar magic\u201d de neutroni (2, 8, 20, 50, 82, 126) sau de protoni (2, 8, 20, 50, 82). Aceasta proprietate de stabilitate deosebita se explica prin existenta unor \u201e\u00eenvelisuri\u201d nucleonice complete. Atunci c\u00e2nd excesul de neutroni din nucleu depaseste o anumita limita, nucleul devine instabil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333\" align=\"justify\">Principalele tipuri de radiatii ionizante \u00eent\u00e2lnite \u00een natura, \u00een centralele nucleare sau utilizate \u00een domeniul medical sunt: \u03b1, \u03b2, \u03b3, neutroni, raze X.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333\" align=\"justify\">Iradierea naturala are valori medii \u00een Rom\u00e2nia de 2.4\u00a0 mSv\/an (valori preluate din lucrarea \u201eDozimetria si ecranarea radiatiilor roentgen si gamma\u201d de M. Oncescu si I. Panaitescu, publicata de Editura Academiei Rom\u00e2ne).<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333\" align=\"justify\">Dozele variaza de la zona la zona, depinz\u00e2nd si de alti factori cum ar fi: altitudinea si acumularile locale de radon. La iradierea naturala se adauga iradierea medicala pentru diagnosticare si tratament care reprezinta cea mai importanta sursa de iradiere artificiala pentru populatie si care poate fi bine controlata.
